About the seams
This tool is built to show its work, including where the work is weak.
Selection is interpretation. Deciding which passages belong to a topic — and how large to draw them — is an editorial act. A big circle is a claim. This prototype sizes circles by the count of supporting passages and labels how directly each one bears on the topic, so the claim is at least legible.
The link type is a confidence gradient. An explicit teaching is nearly self-evident; a thematic association is mostly the editor's hand. They are never drawn the same way — colour and stroke both encode it. Do not read a thematic circle as settled fact.
The lens re-weights presentation, not sources. Switching traditions changes emphasis. It does not change the underlying datasets, which are not themselves tradition-tagged. The knob is honest about being a knob.
It will not reproduce Scripture for you. Every node gives a reference and a short editorial gloss, never the verse text. The descent ends by sending you to the page, on purpose.
What it cannot do. Nothing here survives a cropped screenshot. Transparency disciplines the honest reader; it does not stop a determined one. The final safeguard is not in the software.
